The Cottage at Dunthorpe Farm brings you incredible sights and sounds of the country to enjoy at a quiet and leisurely pace, while still maintaining easy access to major roads to get you on your way.
Western Loudoun County features excellent craft breweries and wineries, equestrian activities and mountain biking. We are minutes from the Appalachian Trail for the serious hiker. Historic sites abound as the area featured a number of key engagements during the Civil War. Harpers Ferry with its famous John Brown raid on the Armory, Antietam and Manassas are less than 30 minutes away. Our main barn was burned by Union troops during a sweep through the Shenandoah Valley in search of Confederate raiders in 1864. Fortunately for us, the barn was rebuilt shortly after the war.
Take in the wetland that runs through our property providing additional treats from Mother Nature including bald eagles, great herons, hawks, Canadian geese, and red foxes (after all, this is Virginia hunt country).
